LINCOLN, R.I. – The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team faced NJCAA Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) on Saturday Sept. 7.
After a scoreless first half, the Seawolves would get on the scoreboard first when freshman Chandrel Laza (Westbrook, Maine) scored his first career goal on a delivery by sophomore Tim Eulenberger (Iffezheim, Germany).
The Seawolves extended their lead near the end of regulation when junior Louis Sehr (Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire) landed his second of the year, assisted by sophomore Ahmed Al Mshakheel (Biddeford, Maine). The Seawolves would hold the Knights scoreless for the remainder of the game, leading to the Seawolves victory.
The victory improves the Seawolves record to 2-1 on the season.
The Seawolves next game will be on the road against Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent Central Maine Community College (CMCC) on Thursday Sept. 19. Kickoff in Auburn, Maine is scheduled for 4:00pm.
