Shenango Volleyball Falls on the Road

The Penn State Shenango Women's Volleyball team fell to Westminster College in three sets on Tuesday night, with set scores of 25-11, 25-17, and 25-22. Despite showing improvement throughout the match, Shenango was unable to overcome the efficient attack of Westminster, which hit .241 as a team.

Cyra Cross led the way for Shenango, recording 9 kills on 43 total attempts, and contributing 10 digs on defense as well. Maggie Briggs added 3 kills and hit .333 for the match, while Kylee Loreno chipped in with 4 kills. Carla Ramirez Ortiz showcased her setting ability with 16 assists and 10 digs.

On defense, the Shenango backline worked hard, with the team collecting 49 total digs. Gabby Villanueva Santos contributed 7 digs, and Bella Audia added 9 of her own. Despite their efforts, Shenango could not find an answer for Westminster's balanced offense.

The Lions will look to rebound when they travel to Penn State Greater Allegheny for their next match on September 19th.
