Women's Soccer Records Strong Win Over Penn State Hazleton

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Women's Soccer defeated PSUAC opponent Penn State Hazleton, 8-1.

Schuylkill dominated from the opening whistle, netting seven goals in the first half. Grace Fenstermacher (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Nativity BVM) assisted Olivia Dress (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Schuylkill Haven) for the game's opening goal at the 3:33 mark. Schuylkill continued to press forward, as Zoë Gannon (Leesport, PA / Schuylkill Valley) scored less than three minutes later.

Fenstermacher then tallied two consecutive goals for Schuylkill at the 13:23 and 16:34 marks, extending the lead to a commanding 4-0. Brittney Holland (Andreas, PA / Lehighton Area) joined the scoring spree, netting her first goal of the match at the 17:39 mark and adding two more before the period concluded. Holland also set up Schuylkill's final goal of the game, assisting Haley Sypniewski (Mount Carmel, PA / Mount Carmel Area) at the 74:57 mark.

Schuylkill dominated the shot count, outshooting their opponents by 40. Victoria Grimm (Jonestown, PA / Northern Lebanon Area) excelled in goal, conceding only one goal in the first half. Six of Schuylkill's eight goals were assisted.

Schuylkill (3-4-1 overall, 2-1 PSUAC) travels to Penn State Beaver for their next matchup on Saturday, October 5th.
