Men’s Soccer Ends YSCC Play Undefeated

Concord, NH – The CMCC men's soccer team put the finishing touches on a 9-0-0 undefeated record in YSCC conference play with a 3-0 win on the road against NHTI. The Mustangs wrapped up another regular season title by outscoring YSCC opponents 47-2 in conference games and will be the #1 seed in the upcoming YSCC Tournament, which Central Maine is hosting. CMCC has not allowed a goal in its last seven contests.

Ivan Domingues scored a brace for the Mustangs with a goal in either half. The first came in the 23rd minute off an assist by Massimo Di Pilato. The second was from the penalty spot where Ivan converted in the 68th minute making him a perfect 6-for-6 on penalties this season.

It was the fifth multi-goal game of the season for the junior forward from Lewiston, ME. Ivan finishes the regular season with a team-leading 18 goals, scoring on more than half of his shots on target.  

Jeremiah Gomez, who wore the captain's armband for the day with team captain Alfie Bashford given the day off, wrapped up the scoring in the 87th minute off an assist by Justin Violette. Gomez ends the regular season tied for second on the team in goals with Igor Domingues, both having scored eight. The center attacking mid from Old Orchard Beach, ME also leads the YSCC with 15 assists.

CMCC outshot NHTI 26-4 in the match. Cody Cleaveland picked up his league-leading 11th win of the season making four saves. The Mustangs have now shutout their last seven straight opponents and have not allowed a goal in the last 607:37 minutes of play.

The #1 seeded Mustangs will wait until Saturday, November 2nd to play their next match in the YSCC Tournament semifinals. Central Maine Community College is hosting the men's soccer championship weekend on its turf field. Both semifinals will be played on that Saturday with the winners advancing to the final on Sunday, November 3rd.
