Tough Road Trip Ends in Loss for Beaver 92-74 in PSUAC Play
Penn State Wilkes-Barre takes down Beaver in first PSAUC match-up of the second half of the season.
Dallas, PA - Today the Lions took a trip to the other side of the state to face PSUAC competition, Penn State Wilkes-Barre. After taking a break in the PSUAC, the Men's Basketball team was ready to get back into it for the second half of their season. Leading going into halftime this looked to be a good game for Beaver, after the half though was a different story where Beaver struggled to hold their lead. Finishing with a score of 92-74 Beaver has had their first loss of the second half of the season so far. Coming off a great win after taking on the Community College of Beaver County, Beaver tried to get things rolling in the PSUAC. The team struggled when it came to 3-pointers this game making only 22% while making 42.6% of their field goal attempts, and 60% of free throws. Beaver looks to take this loss as a starting point to fight through the reminder of the season and push towards their goal of playoffs.
First-year, Ronyell Coston (Eastern Shore, VA) scored a solid 15 points for the Lions which led his team, he also had 4 rebounds, 4 assist, and 3 steals. Second-year, Josh McCloud () played a strong game scoring 14 points, with 1 rebound, 4 assists and 2 steals. Second-year, Alex Green (Chicago, IL) had 11 points this game, had 5 rebounds which led the team, 2 assists, and 3 steals. Third-year, Trevor Franklin (Stafford, VA) had 9 points this game with 4 rebounds. 7 other players scored for Beaver this game getting the team to their 74 points. The team had 24 rebounds, 15 assists, 10 steals, and 2 blocks.
Penn State Beaver Men's Basketball is now 7-9 overall while being 4-3 in conference. The Men's Basketball team will take the court again this Tuesday, January 21st at 8pm. They will be facing off against PSUAC competitor, Penn State New Kensington to fight to win the West.
