Eddy Perez was an unstoppable force at the plate on Sunday, going a perfect 3-for-3 as Atlantis University powered past PSU Fayette with a commanding 16-5 victory. Perez was locked in from the start, delivering singles in both the first and second innings, proving to be a tough out all game long.
The scoring started early for Atlantis University, as Oscar Caicedo set the tone with an RBI triple in the first inning. Marco Medina followed up with a sacrifice fly to bring in another run, and Justin Suarez delivered the biggest blow—a bases-clearing double that drove in three, giving Atlantis an early cushion. Atlantis exploded for an eight-run second inning, stringing together six hits to put the game out of reach. Medina's two-run single, Jony Vasallo's sacrifice fly, and Nathaniel Gomez's two-run double fueled the offensive surge. Perez capped off the inning with another clutch single, bringing home two more runs.
On the mound, Alejandro Uribe earned the win with a flawless one-inning outing, allowing no hits, no runs, and no walks. Kevin Rodriguez got the start, striking out five while giving up five runs across three innings. Francisco Bracho closed things out with a solid relief appearance, allowing just one hit and striking out two in one shutout inning.
Atlantis finished with 13 total hits, with Medina leading the charge, going 2-for-2 with four RBIs. Caicedo, Gomez, and Ozzy Gabarro each had multi-hit performances, while Gianni Rodriguez showcased patience at the plate, drawing three walks. The team showed off its speed as well, swiping six bases, with Rodriguez stealing two on his own. Defensively, Atlantis played a clean game, committing zero errors while turning a double play. Perez was a standout in the field, recording a team-high seven chances.
Andrew Despot led the way offensively for PSU Fayette, going 2-for-2, while the team worked seven walks overall. Manny Stitch and Jaxon Monnard each drew two free passes, and PSU Fayette matched Atlantis' strong defensive play by also finishing the game without an error. Atlantis University looks to keep the momentum rolling when it takes on PSU Fayette again this coming Sunday.
