ALBANY, N.Y. – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Men's Basketball claimed a 71-60 win against Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) showdown on Saturday afternoon.

SUMMARY
The Seawolves relied on strong performances from their starters to pull away for the win. Thomas Martinotti (Harwinton, Conn.) led the team with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Cole Pulkinen (Hebron, Maine) had 15 points, seven assists, and three rebounds. Charlie Houghton (Dixfield, Maine) contributed 14 points and eight boards.

Nathan Mugisha (Westbrook, Maine) came off the bench, providing high energy and recording a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks. The Seawolves shot an efficient 48.1% from the field and outscored Albany 38-31 in the second half to cement the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half was tightly contested, with several lead changes as both teams traded baskets early on. Albany briefly gained momentum midway through the half, but Mugisha's layup at the 12-minute mark reclaimed the lead for SMCC (21-20). From that point on, the Seawolves maintained control.

The Seawolves extended their lead to 14 points late in the second half and held on by controlling the boards (41 rebounds to Albany's 30) and capitalizing on turnovers.
