Game 1: Hood College 6, Mont Alto 0

Penn State Mont Alto softball traveled to Hood College for a double header. A strong offensive performance from Hood College allowed them to get the win over Mont Alto 6-0 in the first game of the double header.  

In the bottom of the first inning, Jocelyn Pfleiger would hit a sacrifice fly which would score one. This would give them an early 1-0 lead over Mont Alto. In the bottom of the second inning, Bailey Pysher would single to left field and this would allow two more runs to score making their lead 3-0 going into the third inning.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, a lead off homerun from Sammy Mclntosh would extend their lead to 4-0. Later in the inning Sara Munson would single, and two runs would score. This would end up being the game winning runs as Hood College wins 6-0 over Mont Alto.

Game Two: Hood College 9, Mont Alto 2

A strong offensive performance from Sydney Weaver allowed Hood College to get the win over Mont Alto 9-2.

In the bottom of the first inning, an error by Mont Alto would allow one run to score. Later in the inning, a three-run homerun from Sydney Weaver would make the score 4-0 in favor of Hood College.

In the top of the second inning, Rachel Alleman would hit an RBI single making the score 4-1 in favor of Hood College. In the bottom of the third an RBI single from Rebecca Gottleib would make the score 5-1. In the top of the fourth, a triple from Abigail Cunningham would score one run and would cut the lead to 5-2.

A single in the bottom of the fifth would allow Hood College to gain another run, making the score 6-2. In the bottom of the sixth, a wild pitch from Mont Alto would allow another run to score. Then a single from Sara Munson would score another run. Mont Alto would not be able to come back, and the final score would end up being 9-2 in favor of Hood College.
