MONACA, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Men's Soccer fell to PSUAC opponent Penn State Beaver, 7-1.
Beaver set the tone early in the first half, scoring at the 11:25 and 13:24 marks. They struck again with two more goals just two minutes apart, at 31:25 and 33:41. Beaver's final goal of the half came at 42:40, sending them into halftime with a dominant 5-0 lead. Beaver attempted 22 shots in the opening period.
As Beaver seemed poised for a 7-0 win, Jonah Zias (Saint Clair, PA / Pottsville) connected with Zack Wilcox (Covington, PA / North-Penn Mansfield), who scored Schuylkill's first goal of the match at 88:49. Beaver managed to shoot more shots in the second half. Bryce Hensley (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Blue Mountain) recorded 24 saves for Schuylkill, while Schuylkill attempted a total of 13 shots in the final period.
Schuylkill (1-7 overall, 1-3 PSUAC) will complete their PSUAC west road trip against Penn State Greater Allegheny on Sunday, October 6th.
