Myrtle Beach, SC- The Penn State Beaver baseball team took on Geneva college in a day-night double header on Wednesday.
In the morning session, it was all Geneva. The golden Tornado's defeated the Lions 12-0. Geneva scored 4 in the second, 2 in the third, one in the fourth, 4 in the fifth, and 1 in the six, Geneva banged out 13 hits on the way to the 12-0 victory. 1st year Benjamin Ogle (East Berliin, PA) recorded two hits in the loss for the Lions. 1st Year Andres Molinar (Long Beach, Ca) took the loss.
In the night cap, Geneva jumped out to a 5-0 lead, before Beaver got on the board in the second scoring three times with 2 outs; to pull within 2, 5-3. Genava scored on in teh third, and Beaver answered in the fourth, to make it 6-4. Geneva scored six in the fifth and five in the seventh to pull away. They added 5 more in the 8th. Ogle and Molina had 2 RBI's a piece in the loss.
Beaver now sits at 0-9 on the season. They return to action Thursday at 6:30PM when they take on Rochester Community and Technical College to close out the Myrtle Beach leg of their schedule.
