Crusaders Finish Strong in Victory Over Knights
Summerdale, PA – The Christendom Men's Basketball squad ended their 2024-25 Season with a victory 83-68 on Thursday, February 27, against the Central Penn College Knights.
Summerdale, PA – The Christendom Men's Basketball squad ended their 2024-25 Season with a victory 83-68 on Thursday, February 27, against the Central Penn College Knights.
Christendom opened the game firing, as Crusaders shot over 50% on all field goals as well as three point attempts. The Crusaders raced out to a commanding 45-22 lead at the half. The Knight's offense came alive for a stretch in the second half, narrwwoing the gap to 15 with about 14 minutes to play. The Crusaders responded with a run of their own to extend the lead to 23 points and essentially put the game away.
Overall, the Crusaders had an impressive 49 rebounds in the match. While every member of the team contributed to the score, John Fowler (Sophomore/ Tempe, AZ), Daniel Shultz (Sophomore/ Fredericksburg, TX), and David Echaniz (Senior/ Front Royal, VA) all played a major role in the game with 15 or more points each.
With a strong victory, the Crusaders closed out the 2024-25 season. They had an impressive season, going 6-3 at home, defeating multiple ranked opponents, finishing third in a tough conference, and defeating two programs for the first time in program history. The Crusaders are a young team and have great potential going into the next season.
