Penn State Du Bois Powers Past Penn State New Kensington, 13–6
Penn State Du Bois delivered a dominant offensive performance on Saturday, racking up 15 hits en route to a 13–6 victory over Penn State New Kensington. After an early 3–1 deficit, Du Bois erupted for 12 unanswered runs across the next four innings to pull away and secure the win.
Bryce Dobson led the charge with a 1-for-4 day, driving in a game-high four RBIs including a two-run double in the seventh to cap off the scoring. Jake Sikora added a two-run homer in the fourth, while Alex Gavlock went 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Every starter in the Du Bois lineup contributed either a hit, run, or RBI.
Penn State New Kensington struck first, plating three runs in the opening inning behind RBI hits from Miguel Garcia, Thomas Santiago Jr., and Chris Magnee. In the fourth, Bryan Calderon crushed a three-run homer—his first of the season—to bring the home team within one run at 7–6, but New Kensington's offense stalled afterward.
Connor Cherry (1-0) earned the win for Du Bois, allowing five runs (all earned) over 3.1 innings. Travis Keister followed with a strong relief appearance, giving up just one run over 3.2 innings while striking out six.
New Kensington starter Zander Allen (0-1) took the loss, surrendering 10 runs (nine earned) on 12 hits over five innings. Ryan Clearwater pitched the final two frames, giving up three additional runs.
