MANOR COLLEGE MEN’S SOCCER LOSES HOME MATCH VERSUS  ROWAN COLLEGE SOUTH JERSEY-GLOUCESTER

JENKINTOWN, PA—National Junior College Athletic Association Region XIX III Rowan College South Jersey-Gloucester (6-5-1) freshman goalkeeper Diego Torres Eguiluz (3-3-1) and the Gloucester defense held seventh-ranked United Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division I Manor College (4-4-0) to a season-low three shots on goal as the Roadrunners shut out the Blue Jays, 2-0.  

The Blue Jays previously played the Roadrunners at Manor on September 13, 2018 and won, 3-2, when they were NJCAA Region XIX Division I.

Gloucester sophomore forward Noah Heintz scored his fourth goal of the season, with an assist from freshman midfielder Matt Lillia (14:31). It was Lillia's fifth assist of the season.  The Roadrunners led at halftime, 1-0.  Gloucester outshot Manor, 12 (nine on goal) to one (none on goal).  

The Roadrunners sophomore midfielder Broudleyton Calcinot scored his second goal of the season, with an assist from freshman midfielder Germaine Okeke (65:28). It was Okele's eighth assist of the season. Gloucester outshot Manor in the second half, 10 (four on goal) to six (three on goal).  The Roadrunners outshot the Blue Jays for the match, 22 (13 on goal) to seven (three on goal).

This is the second time the Blue Jays have been shut out this season and the first time at home.

The loss snaps a two home match winning streak.

Manor at Home (Since 2021): Manor is 2-2-0 at home this season.  They are 16-8-1 at home since the 2021 season.

Blue Jays versus the NJCAA (Since 2021): The Blue Jays are 5-6-0 overall (5-2-0 at home) versus NJCAA schools since 2021.  They are also 4-5-0 overall (4-2-0 at home) versus Region XIX Division III schools since 2021.

Series Record (Since 2021): Manor is 0-2-0 overall (0-1-0 at home) versus Gloucester since they joined the USCAA for the 2021 season.  Between the 2015 and 2019 seasons, they were 1-2-0 overall (1–0-0) versus the Roadrunners.

Manor as a Nationally-Ranked Team (Since 2021): The Blue Jays are 2-3-0 overall (2-1-0 at home) as a nationally-ranked team this season.  They are 5-6-0 overall (5-1-0 at home) since the 2021 season.

Next Match: The Blue Jays travel to play sixth-ranked (tied) USCAA Division II and Eastern States Athletic Conference member Christendom College (4-4-1, 1-2) on Saturday, October 5 at 3:45 p.m. in Front Royal, Virginia.  Manor won the initial match-up versus Christendom, 1-0, on October 21, 2023 at Manor.  The Blue Jays are 12-7-1 overall (6-3-0 on the road) versus the ESAC since 2021.

Next Home Match: Manor hosts the NJCAA Region XIX Division III Delaware County Community College Phantoms on Monday, October 21 at 3:30 p.m. in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.  The Blue Jays previously played the Phantoms on October 18, 2021 at Manor and won, 4-0.  Between 2002 and 2019, Manor led the season series 17-2-0 when they were Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (EPCC) and NJCAA (2008-2019) members.
