Sibert's power helps Mont Alto to sweep of CMCC

Game One: Penn State Mont Alto 13, Central Maine CC 1  

 

Penn State Mont Alto hosted a double header against Central Maine CC on Saturday. An offensive explosion in the bottom of the first inning for Mont Alto allowed them to get the decisive victory over Central Maine CC 13-1. 

 

In the bottom of the first, James Sibert would lead off the game with a solo homerun. Garrett Worth would then double, and two more runs would score. Later in the inning, Nicholas Leckert would single through the left side which would score one run on the hit.  

 

Also in the first, a throwing error by Central Maine's catcher allowed another run to score. The offense was not done yet though, Gavin Kissel would single to right field and score one run on the play. John Copenhaver would then single up the middle and one run would score, making the score 7-0 in the bottom of the first inning.  

 

Still in the first inning, James Sibert would come back up to bat and hit a 3-run homerun and his second homerun of the game. The offense was still not done, Garrett Worth would then hit another double and one run would score. Cameron Bailey would then ground out to shortstop, but one run would score on the play. Caiden Smith would then single through the right side and one run would score, making the score 13-0 in the first inning.  

 

In the top of the third inning, a passed ball would allow one run to score for Central Maine CC and the final score would end up being 13-1 in favor of Mont Alto.

Game Two: Penn State Mont Alto 7, Central Maine CC 4 

 

Penn State Mont Alto hosted a double header on Saturday against Central Maine CC. In the second game of the doubleheader, a close game ends up going Mont Alto's way as the come back and win 7-4 over Central Maine CC.  

   

In the top of the first inning, Brady Vincent would hit a 2-run homerun, making the score 2-0 over Mont Alto. In the top of the fourth inning, Ryan Stone would single up the middle and one run would score.  

 

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Braden Zeger would hit a sacrifice fly and one run would score. In the same inning, Gavin Kissel would also hit a sacrifice fly and one run would score on the play.  

 

In the bottom of the fifth inning, an error by the infield allowed one run to score for Mont Alto, making the score 3-3. In the same inning, Carter Fogal would single through the left side and one run would score. Braden zeger would then hit a sacrifice fly and one run would score. Gavin Kissel would then single up the middle and one more run would score, making the score 7-3 in favor of Mont Alto.  

 

In the top of the seventh, Jake Calver would hit an RBI single making the score 7-4 and Mont Alto would end up winning with that score.
