New Kensington Dominates Fayette with Offensive Explosion in Shutout Win
April 13, 2025 — Uniontown, PA — In one of their most commanding performances of the season, Penn State New Kensington crushed Penn State Fayette 18-0 in a five-inning mercy-rule victory on Monday afternoon. The Lions brought the bats early and often, erupting for 14 runs in just the first three innings to seize total control.
The offensive onslaught was highlighted by home runs from Nat Greenslet and Miguel Garcia, and a 4-RBI performance from both Greenslet and Caden Rupert. New Kensington capitalized on Fayette's defensive miscues and wild pitching, drawing 10 walks and adding timely hits throughout the lineup.
The second inning set the tone with John Galeano Del Castillo drawing a bases-loaded walk and Rupert taking a hit-by-pitch to plate another. Greenslet followed with a two-run single before launching a two-run homer in the third. Garcia added a solo shot to continue the rally. By the end of the third, the Lions were up 14-0, with Weitzel, Hodgins, and Galeano all contributing RBIs.
On the mound, AJ Demharter was dominant, tossing a complete-game two-hit shutout with five strikeouts and five walks to earn his first win of the season.
