Huskies Fall in Final Seconds

Pottersville, NY –  The Huskies suffered a heartbreaking loss in the final moments on Wednesday night.  The Huskies attempted to go to 2-0 in the regular season against the Bobcats from Paul Smith's College. The first half was filled with several scoring runs by both teams and neither team was able to get a comfortable lead.

The second half began with a seven-point Husky lead, and they were able to maintain a small lead until under two minutes. The Bobcats knocked down several clutch shots and took a 63-62 lead. As the final seconds came off the clock, the Huskies grabbed an offensive rebound and drew a foul with .4 seconds on the clock to send them to the free-throw line. However, the Huskies did not make the first free throw of the one-and-one and the Bobcats escaped with the victory.

The Huskies were successful throughout the game finding easy layups and dominating under the basket, scoring 40 of their 62 points in the paint. However, they did struggle to find any rhythm from the three-point line, making just two throughout the night.

Efraim Marvin led the Huskies in scoring with 18 points and added 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Lukas Parschauer was one rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points.

The Huskies will look to refocus and rebound as the top team in the YSCC standings comes to town. The Huskies will take on Central Maine Community College on Saturday, January 25th.
