MANOR COLLEGE MEN’S SOCCER DEFEATS PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY-SCRANTON IN HOME MATCH-UP

JENKINTOWN, PA—United Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division I Manor College (8-7-1) sophomores Adan Crispin-Morales (midfield) (Norristown, PA/Norristown) and Zakhir Brewster (defenseman) (Philadelphia, PA/Roman Catholic) each scored a goal and contributed an assist and freshman midfielder Jallah Murvee (Philadelphia, PA) contributed two assists as the Blue Jays defeated the USCAA Division II Pennsylvania State University-Scranton-Nittany Lions (6-7-1), 3-1.  

Manor opened the scoring early in the first half. Crispin-Morales' upfield pass went from around the Scranton side of the midfield circle to Brewster near the 18-yard line.  Brewster's pass to junior midfielder Kounda Doucoure's (Philadelphia, PA/Benjamin Franklin) around the 18. Doucoure's shot went into the left of the net for his seventh goal of the season (5:45). Crispin-Morales and Brewster contributed their eighth and second assists of the season, respectively, on Doucoure's goal.  Freshman forward Moussa Cherif's (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) pass outside the 18 went to Murvee.  Murvee's pass went to Brewster inside the 18.  Brewster's shot went into the middle of the net for his fourth goal of the season (32:18).  Cherif and Murvee contributed their fourth and fifth assists of the season, respectively, on Brewster's goal.  Manor led, 2-0, at halftime.  The Blue Jays outshot the Nittany Lions in the first half, 15 (nine on goal) to nine (four on goal).

Scranton cut the lead in half in the second half.  Freshman forward Fabrice Gatsinzi scored his 16th goal of the season off of a rebound, with an assist by freshman midfielder Jack Eisele (55:17). Eisele contributed his sixth assist of the season on Gatsinzi's goal. Manor finished off the scoring later in the match.  Sophomore defenseman Lucas Dolchanczyk's (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Towne Charter) went to Murvee outside of the 18.  Murvee's pass went to Crispin-Morales inside the 18.  Crispin-Morales' shot went into the right side of the net for his seventh goal of the season (85:25).  Dolchanczyk and Murvee contributed their fourth and fifth assists of the season on Crispin-Morales' goal.  This was Murvee's second multi-assist match of the season, tying for the team lead with Crispin-Morales.  Both teams had nine shots overall and six on goal in the second half.  The Blue Jays outshot the Nittany Lions for the match, 24 (15 on goal) to 18 (10 on goal).

The victory broke a three-match home losing streak. It was their longest since joining the USCAA for the 2021 season.  They previously lost three-straight at home from October 13, 2015 to September 1, 2016 when they were National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX Division I members. They last lost three-straight at home in the same season from September 9 to October 1, 2015.

Manor versus the Association (Since 2021): Manor is 6-4-1 overall (2-2-0 at home) this season versus the USCAA.  They are 24-16-2 overall (11-8-1 at home) since the 2021 season.

The Blue Jays versus the PSUAC (Since 2021): The Blue Jays are 8-2-0 overall (4-1-0 at home) versus the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) since 2021.  Between 2015 and 2019, Manor was 5-0-1 overall (1-0-1 at home) versus the PSUAC when they were in the NJCAA.

Next Match: Manor hosts the 11th-ranked USCAA Division II and Eastern States Athletic Conference foe Christendom College Crusaders (6-5-3, 1-3-0 ESAC) in its final home regular season match on Saturday, October 26 at 3 p.m.  It will also be Senior Day for Chavez and midfielder Abubakarr Bangura (Philadelphia, PA/John Bartram).  The Blue Jays defeated the Crusaders in its previous match-up, 2-1, on October 5 in Front Royal, Virginia.  Manor leads the season series, 2-0-0. The Blue Jays are 14-10-2 overall (6-5-1 at home) versus the ESAC since 2021. They are 3-3-1 overall (1-1-0 at home) versus nationally-ranked teams this season. They are 4-5-1 overall (1-1-0 at home) since 2021.
