Crusaders Wrap Up Season with Road Trip to Philadelphia
Philadelphia, PA – Over the weekend, the Crusaders played a pair of games against Williamson and Manor. The Crusaders picked up a win against the Mechanics of Williamson by a score of 6-1. The Crusaders went out the next day to take on Manor, where the Crusaders fell 2-0 in a very tough battle.

The Crusaders came out blazing, with an incredible goal scored by George Storey (Sophomore/Amisville, VA) on an assist from the keeper Michael Vander Woude (Freshman/ Manassas, VA). From there, the Crusaders were rolling. They scored three more goals in the next ten minutes, coming from seniors Sean Corcoran (Senior/Lawrence, NJ) and Josh Cruz (Senior/ San Diego, CA), while Storey picked up his second of the night.
Towards the end of the first half, Justin Zappe (Freshman/Green Township, NJ) picked up his first collegiate goal of his career. The Mechanics scored one goal just four minutes after the goal from Zappe, but the Crusaders immediately responded with a goal of their own less than a minute later, with the goal coming from John Paul Tsakanikas (Senior/Front Royal, VA), with the assist coming from Corcoran.
There were no goals scored in the second half, resulting in a 6-1 win for the Crusaders.
@ Manor (0-2 L)
The beginning of the game proved to be an even match with both teams pushing the attack. Although The Crusaders played an impressive game on defense, Manor found the back of the net in this half. Going into the second half, the Crusaders were down 1-0. Christendom kept the pressure on the Blue Jays' defensive line but were unable to finish on connections up top. Despite the Crusaders control on the ball, Manor scored coming up on 60 minutes in the match. The Crusaders shut down any further attempts on net in the half, bringing the game to a close with Manor College over Christendom 2-0. Vander Woude played a fantastic game in goal which was reflected in 12 total saves.
The Christendom College Men's Soccer team ended the 2024 season with a winning record of 7-6-3. With multiple seniors leaving, the team looks to work hard to fill their crucial roles on the field.
