Volleyball Wins Six Straight with Weekend Sweep and Senior Night Celebration
Paul Smiths, NY ~ The Paul Smith's College Volleyball Team continued their winning streak, sweeping both the NHTI Lynx and ACPHS Panthers in straight sets over the weekend, bringing their total to six consecutive victories.
The weekend was extra special as the Bobcats celebrated Senior Night, honoring their three seniors—Jordan Louis (Crystal, NM), Ali Russell (Old Forge, NY), and Kaleigh Koss (Sweet Valley, PA) as well as Grad Assistant Alli Cherry (Grasonville, MD).
In the match against NHTI, sophomore Finnley Jacobson (Vergennes, VT) dominated the net with 15 kills on 29 attempts for a kill percentage of 51.7%. She also contributed 22 digs, four solo blocks, and one assisted block for an impressive all-around performance. Kaliyah Davis (Queensbury, NY) had another strong game with seven kills and 19 digs, while Jordan Louis excelled with 15 assists and seven kills. Senior Alli Cherry added five kills, eight assists, and 10 digs to round out the top performers for the Bobcats.
Against ACPHS, Jacobson maintained her high level of play, recording 11 kills with a 52.4% kill percentage, along with 17 digs. Defensively, Kaliyah Davis and Karlye Murphy (Hilton, NY) anchored the team with 20 and 15 digs, respectively. Cherry contributed six kills, 10 assists, and six service aces, while Louis chipped in 10 assists and five kills.
In addition to the action on the court, the Bobcats wore pink warmups in their Dig Pink matchup in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. They sit at 10-5 overall and will return to action on Wednesday, October 9th, against Word of Life Bible Institute at 6:00 PM in the Saunders gymnasium.
