Women's Soccer Falls To Penn State Mont Alto

MONT ALTO, Pa. - Penn State Schuylkill Women's Soccer lost their Saturday matchup to Penn State Mont Alto.

Mont Alto struck first, scoring the game's opening goal at the 18:14 mark. They maintained a slight advantage in shots during the first half, leading 8-4. Mont Alto extended their lead with a late goal in the first period, finding the back of the net at the 40:22 mark to enter halftime up 2-0.

In the second half, Schuylkill took control, dominating the offensive play with 10 shots compared to Mont Alto's 4, 8 of which were on target. Schuylkill's pressure finally paid off when Brittney Holland (Andreas, PA / Lehighton Area) scored their first goal at the 85:17 mark. Despite the final score, Schuylkill won the overall shot count, outshooting Mont Alto 14-12.

Schuylkill (2-2-1 overall, 1-1 PSUAC) will host NCAA Division III Keystone College on Tuesday, September 24th.
