Women's Soccer Advances to PSUAC Championship

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Women's Soccer triumphed over Penn State Hazleton in the semifinal round of the PSUAC Tournament with an impressive 11-2 victory.

Schuylkill struck quickly, as Nancy Le (Harrisburg, PA / Central Dauphin East) assisted Olivia Dress (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Schuylkill Haven) on the game's opening goal at the 4:23 mark. Dress stayed involved, connecting with Grace Fenstermacher (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Nativity BVM) at 11:13 to give Schuylkill an early 2-0 lead. Fenstermacher and Zoë Gannon (Leesport, PA / Schuylkill Valley) split Schuylkill's remaining four goals of the first half, while Hazleton managed to score their only two goals in the first period.

The dynamic play of Fenstermacher and Gannon continued into the second half, where they each contributed another goal for Schuylkill. Nia Bronson (Pine Grove, PA / Pine Grove), Kay Lee Morgan (Hegins, PA / Tri-Valley), and Brittney Holland (Andreas, PA / Lehighton Area) also added to Schuylkill's goal tally.

Schuylkill's teamwork shone, with ten of their eleven goals resulting from assists. Alyssa DeBronzo (Richboro, PA / Council Rock South) led with three assists. Dominating offensively, Schuylkill outshot Hazleton 31-5 during the match.

Schuylkill will face Penn State Mont Alto for the PSUAC Championship on Tuesday, November 5th, at University Park.
