Schuylkill Baseball Dominates Wilkes-Barre to Start 4-Game Sweep

Tristan Baer was lights out on the mound, striking out 11 and allowing just two hits in a complete-game performance to lead Schuylkill to an 8-2 win in Friday's opener.

The Lions broke through with three runs in the fourth to erase an early 2-0 deficit, then poured on five insurance runs in the seventh to seal the win. Pedro Rosario led the way offensively, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a double, while Dan Zimmerman and Owen Shoop each drove in a pair.

In the nightcap, Schuylkill wasted no time, scoring 11 runs across the first two innings and cruising to a 12-0 mercy-rule victory in five innings.

Yostin Guerrero put on a show at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double, four RBIs, and a steal of home. Brenan Adams was dominant on the bump, tossing a one-hit shutout and striking out four.

The Lions drew 10 walks, stole six bases, and had 10 different players record an RBI in the team's most complete win of the season to that point.

With two convincing wins on the road Friday, Schuylkill carried momentum into Saturday's home twinbill to complete a 4-0 series sweep. The Lions now sit atop the PSUAC standings with an undefeated start to conference play.
