Beaver Battles Du Bois in Tough PSUAC Match-Up on the Road
Penn State Beaver loses 71-81 in match against Penn State Du Bois
DuBois, PA - Our Penn State Lions took on Penn State Du Bois in a tough match on February 1st, 2025. First-year Ny'zir Dix (Eastern Shore, VA) scored the first points for Beaver, but not before Du Bois could score a 4 point lead on Beaver. Beaver was able to play catchup during these early stages of the first half with Third-year Jabari Gayle (Stafford, VA) making a free throw and layup giving Beaver a 7-4 lead against Du Bois. The first half would remain close between Du Bois and Beaver, seemingly being locked in a stalemate of both sides gaining points. The last throw in this first half for Beaver was made by Second-year Alex Green (Chicago, IL) which had a 32-45. Du Bois would remain in the lead.
Beaver would start off gaining points int he second half by Third-year Trevor Franklin (Stafford, VA) making a layup. Beaver would lag behind Du Bois but make another push for the win roughly halfway in this half which started with Third-year Jalen Vaughn (Beaver Falls, PA). This would'nt be enough as Du Bois would eventually take the match in a 71-81 win. Second-year Alex Green (Chiacgo, IL) would make the last score for Beaver in a layup with thrity seconds left in the game.
Second-year Alex Green (Chicago, IL) would lead the game for Beaver scoring 16 points during his time on the court with 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 4 steals. Behind him would be both Third-year Trevor Franklin (Stafford, VA) and Third-year Jabari Gayle (Stafford, VA). Franklin and Gayle would both earn 13 points for Beaver. Franklin would score his 13 points with 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Gayle would earn his points along with 3 rebounds, 0 assist, and 2 steals. Beaver would throw a total of 20-30 from the free throw line at 66.7% and 1-6 from the 3-point line at 16.7% success.
