Kent State University Tuscarawas Drop Game To UC-Clermont Cougars After Late Score

Kent State University Tuscarawas stayed in it until the end, but UC-Clermont Cougars pulled away late in a 5-3 victory on Saturday. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the sixth when Joey Combs singled, scoring two runs.
Kent State University Tuscarawas were the first to get on the board in the third when Caleb Salgado singled, scoring two runs.
UC-Clermont Cougars jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning after Bubba Allen homered to left field, and Combs singled down the right field line, each scoring two runs.
Jayce Parsons earned the win for UC-Clermont Cougars. The hurler allowed three hits and three runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking three. Brenton Billman took the loss for Kent State University Tuscarawas. The hurler went five and one-third innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on nine hits, striking out two and walking one.
Salgado drove the middle of the lineup, leading Kent State University Tuscarawas with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Alex Biars, Jeremy Patchett, Nathan Ashcraft, and Salgado each collected one hit for Kent State University Tuscarawas.
UC-Clermont Cougars tallied 11 hits in the game. Austin Heffner, Combs, and Jackson Roseburrough each collected two hits for UC-Clermont Cougars. Allen and Combs each drove in two runs for UC-Clermont Cougars. UC-Clermont Cougars turned one double play in the game. UC-Clermont Cougars were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Allen made the most plays with 10.

Kent State University Tuscarawas Come Up Short Against UC-Clermont Cougars

Kent State University Tuscarawas fell to UC-Clermont Cougars 10-5 on Saturday.
UC-Clermont Cougars jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Joey Combs hit a solo home run to right field, and Jackson Roseburrough doubled, scoring two runs.
UC-Clermont Cougars added one run in the second. Grant Gillespie walked, making the score 4-0.
Kent State University Tuscarawas flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 5-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Donovan Tucker following a 6-pitch at-bat that drove in two.
A single by Cody Sunday gave UC-Clermont Cougars the lead, 6-5, in the bottom of the third.
Justin Huff earned the win for UC-Clermont Cougars. The right-handed pitcher allowed five hits and five runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking three. Andrew Powell took the loss for Kent State University Tuscarawas. The hurler went one and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on two hits, striking out one and walking two.
Braydon Maine and Tucker each collected two hits for Kent State University Tuscarawas. Maine and Tucker each drove in two runs for Kent State University Tuscarawas.
Sunday led UC-Clermont Cougars with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Roseburrough went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead UC-Clermont Cougars in hits. Bubba Allen paced UC-Clermont Cougars with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating 10 walks for the game. UC-Clermont Cougars were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Marshall French made the most plays with eight.
