Bobcats Topple BSC-Syracuse in Top-10 Showdown
In a battle of nationally ranked teams, ninth-ranked Bryant & Stratton-Rochester toppled number 11 Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse 90-78.
It was the first time the Bobcats broke the 90-point mark this season, riding the wave of a massive third quarter to topple their sister school from Syracuse. Dorian Sharp led the way with 29 points, with Kadijah Jones and Myjoi Adams contributing 18 and 16 points, respectively.
This marked the fifth game in a row where four Bobcats scored in double figures, and one of the most dominating offensive performances in a season that has been defined by stout defense.
Matching Syracuse’s firepower was expected to be a challenge entering the game, as they are one of the most potent teams in the USCAA this year. Rochester did well limited opportunities in the first half, keeping things from turning into a shootout too early in the contest.
Then, in the third quarter, Rochester exploded. Thanks to a few huge runs, Rochester outscored Syracuse 32-12 in the quarter and ripped open a massive, 76-49 lead.
Syracuse pushed back in the fourth, however. Chipping away at Rochester’s lead, but never managing to keep the deficit under 10 points to truly mount a comeback. The win was BSC’s fifth-straight and brought their record to 13-5 for the year.
Next up for the Bobcats are a set of home games against Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Central Penn while keeping an eye on the USCAA Coaches Poll as they wait to see if they rise from their current ninth rank.
