SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team blank Hampshire College, 9-0, at Wainwright Sports Complex on Saturday, Oct. 12.
The Seawolves would score eight of their nine goals in the first half. The brother duo of Jil-Emmanuel Sehr (Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire) and Louis Sehr (Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire) both landed goals in the first three minutes of the game. Captain William Perry (Gorham, Maine) and sophomore Tim Eulenberger (Iffezheim, Germany) found the back of the net in the 10th and 11th minute to extend the Seawolves lead 4-0.
Brendan Saladino (Gorham, Maine), Kaden Pillsbury (Strong, Maine), and Jacob Owen (Winslow, Maine) all notched their first goals of their rookie campaigns. Sophomore Ibrahim Mwamba (Brunswick, Maine) would get on the scoreboard when he would land a shot that bounced off a defender and into the net. Jeannot Ndayishimiye (Portland, Maine) tallied his third goal of the season to seal a 9-0 victory.
The Seawolves get back to .500 on the season at 6-6, 4-2 in league play.
SMCC will be back in action on Sunday, Oct. 13 at Vermont State University at Randolph. Kickoff in Vermont is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
