Beaver Lions take epic win against Greater Allegheny
McKeesport, PA – Penn State Beavers Basketball team took a win against Penn State Greater Allegheny is a match of 65 – 55. Third-year Trevor Franklin (Stafford, VA) started the game off by making a 3-point shot for Beaver with 25 seconds into the first half. He was followed by Second-year Jermaine Knaff (Quincy, IL) who scored an additional 5 points for Beaver in a layup and 3-point shot. Penn State Greater Allegheny took the lead, creating a 9 – 21 game in their favor with less than ten minutes in the first half. Our Lions were able to play catch up and were able to secure the first half in their favor with First-year Joe Pinto (Kenilworth, NJ) scoring the last point this half.
The second half started off with Beaver in the lead, with First-year Ny'zir Dix (Eastern Shore, VA) scoring two free throws. Greater Allegheny once again attempted to show Beaver up, but Beaver remained in the lead for the entire second half. The last point scored by Beaver was done by Third-year Trevor Franklin (Stafford, VA) with fifteen seconds left in the game, securing a 65 – 55 win for Beaver.
Third-year Trevor Franklin (Stafford, VA) and Second-year Jermaine Knaff (Quincy, IL) would both score 14 points for Beaver. Franklin had 5 rebounds, 0 assists, and 0 steals and Knaff had 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 0 steals. Behind them Third-year Jabari Gayle (Stafford, VA) would score 8 points for Beaver with 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Beaver would make 18 – 27 off of the free throw line at 66.7% and 7 – 20 from the 3-point mark at 35% percent success.
