
USCAA Men's Basketball Semifinals: Penn State Schuylkill 54, Penn State Mont Alto 39
Cold shooting and turnovers plaqued Mont Alto in their USCAA Semifinal contest against Penn State Schuylkill on Friday afternoon. After winning the three previous contests against the teams, Schuylkill came out on top of the biggest one yet with a 54-39 win.
Mont Alto trailed by as much as twenty points in the early going as Schuylkill powered ahead 22-2 before Caleb Eckert scored on a jumper with 9:24 left in the half. Eckert scored the next three baskets as Mont Alto trailed 22-10 late in the half. Isaac Lane converted on a late bucket for Schuylkill and Tevin Venson made a layup at the end of the half as Mont Alto trailed 26-12 at the break.
Midway through the second half, Veron Talla scored back-to-back buckets and Caleb Eckert scored a layup as Mont Alto trailed 34-26 with 9:46 remaining. That would be a closest Mont Alto could get in the second half as Schuylkill pushed ahead late on their way to a 54-39 victory.
