Moose Can't Overcome Slow Start in Opener

Bangor, ME - The Seawolves got out to a 25-16 start in the first quarter, the Moose continued to fight back but fall short 65-64 in season opener at UMA-Bangor Fitness Center Gym. The Moose were paced by Sydney Farrar (Senior, Charlotte, ME) who finished with a team high 14 points and a very strong 4-6 from behind the three point arc, 5 rebounds and saw three finish just short of double-doubles. Mariah Dunbar (Senior, Canaan, ME) 9 points and 7 rebounds; Desirae Dumaise (Junior, Litchfield, ME) 8 points and 8 rebounds; Kaeti Butterfield (Senior, Monmouth, ME) 8 points and 9 rebounds. 

 

The Seawolves were led by Brynna MacKenzie with 15 points and had four scorers in double figures. 

 

The Moose struggled from the field shooting 31.9% and from the foul line 58.3% (14-24) and committed 27 turnovers in the loss. The women will take the next 12 days to prepare for YSCC rival Central Maine Community College as they will come into the Civic Center on Wednesday, November 9th for a 6pm tip-off in the home opener.
