Crusaders fall to Shock in 4
Takoma Park, MD – The Christendom College Volleyball team fought hard in their game against the Washington Adventist University Shock but were unable to capitalize on the match. The Crusaders fell to the Shock 3-1, on Wednesday, September 25th.
Takoma Park, MD – The Christendom College Volleyball team fought hard in their game against the Washington Adventist University Shock but were unable to capitalize on the match. The Crusaders fell to the Shock 3-1, on Wednesday, September 25th.
The Crusaders struck first in the match. They fought hard to gain control of the game in the first set. Washington Adventist was unable to keep up with the Crusaders, and Christendom took the first set 25-22. Trying to maintain intensity in the second set, the Crusaders performed well on defense. This was not enough to combat the Shock's effort on offense, and Washington Adventist came on top in the second set 25-16. The third set brought renewed intensity from both teams and was extremely close with the Crusaders and the Shock fighting for this crucial set. Despite the effort of Christendom, Washington Adventist won the set 27-25. Although the Crusaders' defense had an impressive game, the Shock pulled through in the fourth set, claiming the match 3-1. Regardless of the loss, the Crusaders had great digs on defense and Crusaders' Maureen Coffey (Freshman/ Omaha, NE) contributed to the match having a great serving run.
