Men's Basketball Rolls Past Penn State Scranton

DUNMORE, PA – Penn State Schuylkill men's basketball led by as many as 24 points in the first half of Tuesday night's victory against PSUAC conference opponent Penn State Scranton. Up 28-19 with 10:45 remaining in the first half, Schuylkill went on an 11-0 run to take a 39-19 lead with 4:39 remaining in the first half. A 7-0 run late in the half by Scranton brought them within 17 going into the second half.

A 16-5 stretch late in the second half pushed Schuylkill's lead to 31 with time winding down in regulation. Schuylkill went on to defeat Penn State Scranton 91-57.

Schuylkill shot 58 percent from the field while holding Scranton to 27 percent for the contest. Schuylkill also shot it well from 3 point range, going 11-20 for the contest.

Ryan Worrell (Leesport, PA / Schuylkill Valley High School) led Schuylkill in scoring with 15 points off the bench. Dashawn Dixon (Baltimore, MD / Cantonsville High School) finished with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Wilvens Fleurizard (Tamarac, FL / Coral Springs High School) added 11 points.

Schuylkill (10-12. 9-3 PSUAC) will return home on Tuesday as they host PSUAC opponent Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Tip-off time is 8:00 p.m.
