Steadfast Defense Lifts Lady Bobcats to Another Win
Portsmouth, NH ~ The Paul Smith's College women's basketball team secured another victory in New Hampshire this past Sunday afternoon, defeating the Great Bay CC Herons by a score of 67-50.
The win improves the Lady Bobcats to 6-4 on the season, the first with Head Coach Brad Rideout at the helm. Even with the win, Coach Rideout was aware of things to improve on while looking at the positives, signs of an experienced and humble coach. "We hung our hat on the defensive end," said Rideout. "[We] didn't shoot the ball from behind the arc well at all, but we got the win and that was what was important," he added.
Paul Smith's College was led by Jordan Louis with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists. Jayla Gray found her way to another double-double, her sixth for the season, with 13 points and 17 rebounds. Hayleigh Gates also had a solid day, contributing seven points, 13 rebounds, and four steals. Holly Bagley, Abbey Bateman, Brooke D'Amato, and Jaylah Greene contributed nine, eight, 10, and six points respectively.
The Lady Bobcats continue their 6-game road trip on Tuesday night, playing at 5pm against the Bristol CC Bayhawks at the Taunton Center in Taunton, MA.
