New Kensington Nabs Win Over Hazleton Despite Early 4-Run Inning

New Kensington, PA - New Kensington claimed a 10-6 victory on Saturday, despite a big push by Hazleton in the first inning. Hazleton scored its runs on a passed ball by Ashley Wilson.

New Ken collected ten hits and Hazleton had seven in the high-scoring affair.

Hazleton fired up the offense in the first inning. An error scored three runs for Hazleton.

New Kensington pulled away for good with seven runs in the third inning. In the third an error scored one run for New Ken, Kiera Mack singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, Molly Collins singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Delaney Sierka singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, Ashley Encarnacion singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, and Zoe King singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Addyson Gregg got the start for New Kensington. The bulldog lasted seven innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out eight.

Antonia Velasquez went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead New Kensington in hits.
