PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball made the trek down to Portsmouth to take on the Herons of Great Bay Community College and left Leary Field with a 15-run, no-hit victory featuring contributions from all throughout the lineup.

Sophomore Joseph Townsend (Scarborough, Maine) started the game on the mound and threw four innings of no-hit baseball, striking out 11 of the 12 batters he faced before handing it over to sophomore Logan Burt (Philadelphia, Pa.), who added three more strikeouts in the fifth. Sophomore Liam Cooledge (Westbrook, Maine) came on in relief and struck out the side to close the game in the fifth and complete the no-hitter for SMCC.

Sophomore Anthony Sayers' (Benoni, South Africa) RBI single got the scoring started for the Seawolves in the top of the first and sophomore Sam Keblinsky (Mount Desert Island, Maine) scored on a wild pitch to cap off a four-run inning. Sophomores Justin Colon (Aguada, Puerto Rico) and Andrew Martin (Dracut, Mass.) each doubled to drive in a runner in the second before Sayers tallied another RBI single. Colon later tallied another RBI double and Sayers added one of his own, giving him four RBI on three hits. Colon, Martin, Keblinsky and first-year Luke Wearne (Ellington, Conn.) each drove in two runners for SMCC. Sophomore Derek Hoh (Methuen, Mass.) went 2-3 at the plate and walked twice while sophomore Gabriel Rivera (Caguas, Puerto Rico) finished 2-4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases.

The Seawolves pitchers kept the Herons' bats quiet for the entirety while SMCC's offense got going early and often. Here are a few of the players who left their mark on the game.
