Men's Basketball Downs Penn State Scranton

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, PA - Penn State Schuylkill Men's Basketball never trailed in Saturday's blow out victory against PSUAC opponent Penn State Scranton.

Schuylkill got out to an 11-4 lead with 14:20 remaining in the opening half. Scranton brought their deficit to 22-19 with 8:41 remaining off a made jump shot. A 15-3 run by Schuylkill gave them a 37-22 advantage with 4:04 remaining in the half.

Scranton went on a 7-2 run with 2:04 remaining in the period to bring them within ten. Ryan Worrell (Leesport, PA / Schuylkill Valley High School) found the net on Schuylkill's final two possessions of the half to stretch their lead back to fifteen heading into the second half.

Schuylkill's lead was extended to twenty on a made jump shot by Dashawn Dixon (Baltimore, MD / Cantonsville High School) with 13:39 remaining in regulation. With time winding down Schuylkill continued to attack, going on a 22-7 run to stretch their lead to 79-43 with 5:15 remaining. Schuylkill remained in the driver's seat as they went on to defeat Scranton 89-59.

Worrell led Penn State Schuylkill with 16 points off the bench. Wilvens Fleurizard (Tamarac, FL / Coral Springs High School) finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Hadir Boswell (Philadelphia, PA / West Philadelphia Catholic High School) contributed with 10 points off the bench.

Schuylkill (13-14. 12-4 PSUAC) will compete in their final away contest of the season on Tuesday as they travel to Penn State Brandywine. Tip off is set for 8:00 p.m.
