Women's Volleyball Downed in Three Sets at Keystone College

LA PLUME, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill lost to NCAA Division III opponent Keystone College in three sets.

Schuylkill started strong, with two early kills from Maddy Robinson (Auburn, PA / Blue Mountain) contributing to a 4-1 lead. Keystone quickly responded with a run of their own, evening the score at 5-5. A mid-set surge allowed Keystone to extend their lead into double digits, ultimately claiming the first set.

Schuylkill had a similar start in the second set, jumping out to a 4-2 advantage following a service ace by Ava Seltzer (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Schuylkill Haven). However, momentum shifted slightly in Keystone's favor as they strung together points to build a 14-9 lead. Schuylkill fought back with a 5-1 run, led by the efforts of Sydney Morton (Norfolk, VA / Gateway Christian Academy) and Robinson, but Keystone regained control and took the set by seven points.

In the third set, after an early score by Schuylkill, Keystone responded with four consecutive points and never trailed again. Schuylkill, down 20-10, managed to close the gap to within six, aided by kills from Robinson, Tajae Stevenson (Paterson, NJ / John F. Kennedy), and Mahea Kelley (Bowie, MD / Bowie), finishing the set with their highest kill total of the match at six.

Robinson led Schuylkill in kills (5) and digs (12). Ryliegh Sinko (Minersville, PA / Nativity BVM) led the team with 9 assists.

Schuylkill (2-8 overall, 1-3 PSUAC) will return to conference play on Saturday as they travel to Penn State Scranton.
