Huskies open 2024 Softball Season

Pottersville, NY - - The Word of Life Huskies opened the 2024 season this past week with doubleheaders on Friday (3/22) & Monday (3/25). On Friday, the Huskies faced off against Bucks County CC in Newtown, PA. The Huskies kicked off the season with a rough start as Bucks County CC took both games 23-3 and 17-3 to put the Huskies at 0-2 on the year. Anna Winters went 1-3 with a double, a run scored and 2 RBI in game 1, while Faith Lewis & Isabella Tanis both scored. In game 2, the Huskies got an RBI from Sammy Richmond, Caroline Perkins, & Meadow Penley in their 17-3 loss.

On Monday, the Huskies traveled back south to take on Monroe College – Bronx Express in a doubleheader matchup. The Express would dominate the day and take wins in both games 14-1 and 9-1. In game 1, Anna Winters went 3-3 at the plate with 2 doubles and 1 RBI. In game 2, Alexis Dekin hit a single in the 4^th inning for the lone Huskies hit of the day, But Meadow Penley scored in the 5^th inning going to second base on a throwing error and went all the way home putting the Huskies on the board.

The Huskies look to bounce back against SUNY Adirondack on Wednesday, April 3^rd at 3 pm & 5 pm located at the Softball Field at the Word of Life Pine's Family Campground*.
