Crusaders Best Knights 4-1 in Homecoming Game

Front Royal, VA – Christendom Crusaders Men's Soccer Team were victorious 4-1 against Central Penn in Saturday's Homecoming game.

The Crusaders and the Knights began the game strong. The Knights took the early lead with a goal at the 10-minute mark. The score remained even as both teams fought to control the field. Minutes before the end of the first half, Crusader Joe Madigan (Senior/Lawrence, NJ) put a goal in the back of the net to bring the game to an even 1-1.

As the second half began, the Crusaders came out with great intensity. Only 5 minutes into the half, the Crusaders took the lead 2-1 with a goal from Bobby Vander Woude (Freshman/Nokesville, VA) assisted by Michael Blank (Senior/Woodbridge, VA). The Crusaders continued the attack with another goal from Vander Woude, again assisted by Blank. To close the game, Madigan put another goal in the back of the net to make the final score 4-1 Crusaders. Christendom played an incredible second half ending the game with a total of 16 shots.
