Brandywine Eases To First Victory With 10-0 Win

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team cruised to a lopsided victory at Valley Forge, earning its first triumph of 2022 with a 10-0 win Saturday afternoon.

Brandywine outshot Valley Forge 38-0 and received multi-goal games from Gia Cetroni (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West), Alyssa Hanrahan (Clifton Heights, Pa./Upper Darby), Zoey Lineman (West Deptford, N.J./GCIT) and Hope Priemon (Springfield, Pa./Springfield).

Cetroni got the scoring started during the ninth minute and Priemon followed with a marker just over seven minutes later.

Jess James (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) deposited a penalty kick that made the count 3-0. The Lions doubled that margin by halftime as Lineman scored twice in a five-minute span and Jacora Tippins (Valdosta, Ga./Thomas County Central) found the back of the net in the 45th minute.

Lineman completed a hat trick early in the second half, while Cetroni scored her second goal of the contest less than three minutes later. Hanrahan capped the scoring with goals during the 64th and 67th minutes.

Brandywine goalkeepers Demareste Dorvilma (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) and Eva Galiatsatos (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) both went untested, while splitting time in goal for the Lions. Dorvilma earned the win after playing the first 65 minutes in net.

Brandywine (1-1) rounds out a season-opening three-game road trip Tuesday at Gwynedd Mercy (4:00 PM).
