McCormick returns, WBB blows past PSU NK

New Kensington, PA- Women's basketball blows past PSU New Kensington.

Fayette women's basketball had a solid win against PSU New Kensington last night, winning 64-42. The team was excited to have senior leader, Taylor McCormick back in the starting lineup. McCormick's numbers showed she was excited to be back as well, going 8-14 in field goals made and 4-7 in 3 pointers made. McCormick ended the game with 20 points. Following McCormick was forward, Stephanie Taylor, with 8 points and accomplished going 5-7 in field goals made.

Captain, Taylor McCormick spoke about her return to the court, "It felt so good to finally play again! It kills me to watch from the sidelines when my team needs help. I know my ankle is not yet 100% so I had to drastically change the way that i play. I had to stay on the perimeter and try to shoot the whole game, which was challenging for me. I quickly adapted to that and it kind of showed me that I am a better player than I thought, based on versatility."

Fayette women's basketball will face PSU Greater Allegheny on Saturday in a PSUAC West showdown at 1:00 P.M. The last time these two teams met it was a tight game ended in a 69-62 victory for Greater Allegheny. Securing this win could lead to promotion in the standings on the West heading towards playoffs and move the team up in the USCAA Coaches Poll.
