Lemont Furnace, PA- Fayette Women's basketball has tough first loss of the year against Villa Maria at home.
Fayette women's basketball opened up the year with a tough loss to USCAA member, Villa Maria. A promising first half, with a score of 18-14 in Fayette's favor led the team to believe that with the new addition of Dae-lin Burnsworth the team would find their groove in the new year. However, Villa Maria seemed to get the best of Fayette by scoring 27 points in the third quarter to Fayette's 10. The final score resulted in Villa Maria 71, Fayette 64.
Fayette was led by first year player Heaven Grumm from Philadelphia, Pennsyvania with 20 points and a 8-14 FGM.
Women's basketball will take on PSU Hazleton on January 14th at 1:00 P.M. for a home game.
