Fayette has tough loss against Thiel College

Lemont Furnace, PA-  Fayette has hard loss to Thiel to close out the double header.

Thiel College ran away with the second game of the series against the Fayette Nittany Lions. The Nittany Lions hung strong going into the top of the sixth. However, when the top of the seventh came Fayette lost control with Thiel ending the game in a win of 11-4.

Coach Alex Rohlf had this to say about the loss, "We tried to take the momentum from the walkoff and take it into game 2. We did well with that at the start, but we just couldn't hold them off. Out pitchers struggled to find their groove and Thiel hit the ball well. They're scrappy team that just wouldn't go away. We have one more tune-up Friday before jumping head first into conference play this weekend."

Despite the tough loss, Carissa Caldwell lead Fayette with 2 RBI, 2 hits and 1 run.

Fayette's next game will be Friday on the road against Penn Highlands Community College.
