After the game Head Coach Bruce Robertson commented, " Game 1 was a pitcher and defensive duel. Each team trying to capitalize on the other teams mistakes. Fortunately we committed one less than UMPI. Sometimes a long drive can effect how you play. We played probably the worst we had all fall but still gave a tough team D3 team all they could handle. We have been focusing on limiting our errors which we did a good job all fall but we committed 5 today 2 in game 1 and 3 in game 2. Scotty pitched great in game 1. While Elyse pitched the best she had this fall going for her first complete game. We have a very well balanced team this year and its nice to see different players step up when needed. Today Katie had 2 big hits and sparked rallies when we needed it! Playing tough out of conference teams like UMPI is good for us. It only makes us a better team and will help prepare us for our Spring season and a hopeful return to Nationals in 2023."
