Hazleton, Pa. - The Nittany Lions fell in their second straight game, this time a 6-1 home loss on Thursday night at the hands of the Mechanics of Williamson College of the Trades.
The first half featured an exciting flurry of goals beginning with the Mechanics first score of the game in the 13th minute of play. Hazleton responded quickly to knot the score at 1-1 moments later when Hunter Kobel notched his first goal of the season, coming off a pass from Collin Bogdon. Hazleton couldn't keep the momentum on their side however, as Williamson's Marcos Karasavas put the Mechanics back on top at the 15:19 mark (the eventual winning goal), completing a two minute stretch of offense from both teams. The score remained at 2-1 in favor of the visitors through the halftime break but as the Lions looked to make a move in the second half, Williamson took control of the game. The Mechanics picked up a goal in the 50th minute to extend their advantage to 3-1 and poured in three late scores to sure up the victory.
The Lions are back in action on Saturday, September 14th when the Hazleton squad travels to Penn State Scranton for a 1:30 p.m. contest.
