Coach Robertson stated, "I've been saying all along if we play our game, we will do fine. Well we played our game for 5 innings in game 1. These are the best 10 teams in the Nation, and you can't give them extra outs and we gave them 5 extra outs with errors and the added extra mental mistakes to help them out. Game two saw us play our game much better and we still committed 3 errors. Scotty pitched arguably her best game of the season as she held the team that went to the championship game and averaged double runs scored all tournament to just 4 run and 6 hits their lowest. Our bats were much better we just came up short. We had 9 hits to their 6 and we were still a little impatient at the plate. That last inning really got exciting when Paige Ouellette got a big hit then our Captain Abby Ferland took one off the Wall giving her a double and Riley McNamara had a great hit between center and right and their center fielder made an ESPN top 10 catch that would have scored Ferland. That's a catch you just can't be mad about it was all out. It was not the outcome we wanted on this trip, but we learned a lot that will help us for next year. As we have the largest and probably the most talented recruiting class I've ever brought to CM and they are hungry. That says a lot as we have been to the World Series 2 years in a row with a couple great teams. We now focus on the 2023-24 season and getting back the USCAA Small College World Series."
