The Bryant & Stratton College- Syracuse Women's Basketball team defeated the Monroe College JV Women's Basketball team on Sunday afternoon, 73-37. The win for the Lady Bobcats moves their overall record to 9-1 on the season.
How it Happened:
The Lady Bobcats were back on the court for the first time since the mid-season break and hit the ground running with an incredible performance on Sunday afternoon. Leading the way for the Lady Bobcats was senior guard, Jehiah Cook who was one rebound shy of a triple-double. On the afternoon, Cook totaled 32 points, 10 steals, and 9 rebounds.
Behind Cook's career game, the Lady Bobcats were able to open up a 40-24 lead at the half and continued their dominance throughout the second half. Eunice Sillong added her 8th double-double of the season in the Lady Bobcats winning effort with 10 points and another 16 rebounds.
As mentioned, the second half was similar to that of the first half and saw the Lady Bobcats continue to open up their lead and return back home to Syracuse with a 73-37 victory.
"I am really proud of the way that our team played with energy today following almost a month long break," said Head Coach Quantae Elijah. "We knew that it was going to be difficult to find a rhythm today, but I was impressed with the effort and attention to detail that we played with. Now, it is important for us to stay focused on continuing to get better every day and prepare for a tough matchup this Friday."
Next Game:
The Lady Bobcats will be on the road this Friday, January 27th at 5:30pm for a tough matchup against Jamestown Community College.
