Huskies Fall in Tough Game

The Word of Life Bible Institute Huskies welcomed SUNY ESF Mighty Oaks to the Huskies Health & Athletic Center for an HVIAC Basketball clash on Friday night. The Mighty Oaks started off well, gaining a 17-point lead in the first half of play, thanks to some excellent ball movement and their ability to draw fouls. The Huskies were able to cut the lead down to 11 at the half. In the second half, the Huskies played more aggressively and were able to move the ball around and make excellent drives to the hoop. Word of Life was able to cut the Mighty Oaks' lead down to 1 point with about 7 minutes remaining when the Mighty Oaks were able to bring the lead back up to 6. While Jimmy Nguyen and Quentin Lackey were both able to produce 22 points each, it would not be enough as the Mighty Oaks drop the Huskies 93-86. The Huskies drop to 5-12 (2-3) on the season and will take on Vermont Tech on Wednesday, February 1 at the Huskies Health & Athletic Center at the Word of Life Bible Institute.
