SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Women's Volleyball team was defeated by PSUAC opponent Penn State Hazleton in straight sets.
Hazleton recorded double-digit kills in all three sets, peaking with 17 in the final set. While Hazleton committed 17 errors throughout the match, Schuylkill limited their errors to just five. After dropping the first two sets by the same margin, Schuylkill came close to forcing a fourth set but narrowly lost by two points in the final set.
Maddy Robinson (Auburn, PA / Blue Mountain) led the Schuylkill offense with 9 kills, finishing with a .400 hitting percentage. Sydney Morton (Norfolk, VA / Gateway Christian Academy) tallied 7 kills. Setter Ryliegh Sinko (Minersville, PA / Nativity BVM) topped the team in both assists (18) and digs (11). Mahea Kelley (Bowie, MD / Bowie) and Tiffany Bohner (Hegins, PA / Tri Valley) contributed with 9 digs each.
Schuylkill (1-5 overall, 0-2 PSUAC) will remain in PSUAC play for their next matchup as they travel to Penn State Lehigh Valley on Thursday, September 19th.
