Crusaders Win 5 Straight With Victory over Apprentice

Front Royal, VA  Christendom Crusader Women's Basketball improved to an 11-2 record with their, 70-59, win over The Apprentice School Builders at home on Friday, January 27th.

From the beginning of the first quarter the game was a back-and-forth battle. Catherine Thomas (Sophomore/Corpus Christi, TX) was dominant in the first half, putting up 16 of the Crusaders 26 points. Regina Bonvissuto (Sophomore/Kingston Springs, TN) electrified the crown by nailing back-to-back three pointers midway through the second quarter which extended Crusader's the lead. The Builders battled to keep it close and the score was 35-26 going into halftime.

The Builders responded early in the third quarter by cutting the lead to six, 37-31. However, Miranda Keller (Sophomore/Harrisburg, PA) finished a layup through a hard foul and made her free throw which brought the Crusaders lead to 41-32. Miranda finished the game with a double-double, 17 rebounds and 16 points. The game was very physical, but the Crusaders maintained their composure going into the 4th quarter with a 13-point lead. The Crusaders were able to hold a significant lead through the 4th, as the won the game 70-59.  The Crusaders played exceptional defense all around and ended the game with an impressive 50 rebounds overall.

Catherine Thomas also put up a double-double and led all scorer, as she ended the game with 16 rebounds and 29 points.
