Jake Leininger Reaches 100 Career Hits As Baseball Sweeps Season Opener At Ripken Experience

MYRTLE BEACH, Sc. - Penn State Schuylkill Baseball opened their season at the Ripken Experience – Myrtle Beach, SC, taking on Bryant & Stratton (OH) in a doubleheader matchup. Schuylkill went on to defeat Bryant & Stratton 4-2 in the first game and 4-1 in the second matchup.

In the first matchup, Ethan Naftzinger (Hamburg, PA / Hamburg) led Schuylkill with 3 hits. Owen Kosar (Shenandoah, PA / Shenandoah Valley) finished the contest with 2 RBI's. Ryan Culbert (Pine Grove, PA / Pine Grove) had a dominant game on the mound, pitching a total of 5 innings and allowed 3 hits and 2 runs.

Jake Leininger (Pine Grove, PA / Pine Grove) achieved his 100-career hit in the second contest as he hit the ball a total of 3 times and won his matchup on the mound, only allowing 1 run. Owen Zimmerman (Hamburg, PA / Hamburg) also finished with a huge two RBI triple in the win.
